Hello, To start off I appologize for possibly a dumb question. I have searched the forum and seems like LEM was unable to do what I want a few years ago, but cannot find anything more recent. Honestly, I am new to LEM (installed it yesterday and have played with it for only several hours).
My job is a systems integrator and I am trying to find a good solution to analyze events in Windows. My software developers have wrote our program to be a windows service that writes events to Windows Event Viewer that logs things like logon, logoff, invalid password, capture image from video, etc, basically anything meaningful the user does, a event is created. I am trying to utilize Solarwinds to capture these logs and show how our users use our software. Our customer already has Solarwinds ,not sure what products exactly, but they will buy whatever we tell them to. I have NPM in my lab, and just installed LEM because I had a LEM30 license that isnt being used.
So is there a way for LEM to gather a custom windows service log, and analyze it? Maybe LEM isnt the right product, so if there is something else we should be using please let me know. I was originally thinking using NPM to gather these events, and then create a report on it, but when researching it seemed some people recommended using LEM for this.
